Dr. Heidi Morey grew up in Willington, Connecticut. She was active in many 4-H clubs during her youth, but especially enjoyed showing beef cattle. She attended the University of Connecticut, graduating with a B.S. in animal science. Following graduation, Heidi attended veterinary school at Kansas State University, and graduated with honors. While there, she also completed her M.S. in animal science.
After graduation, she practiced in a mixed animal practice in north central Kansas. There, she was able to focus on her interest of small animal, soft tissue, and orthopedic surgery, while also having the opportunity to work with farm animals and horses. Heidi moved back to Connecticut, where she was able to continue practicing while expanding her knowledge and skills in small animal surgery and medicine. She eventually opened Fenton River Veterinary Hospital with her husband, Dr. Scott Morey. During her small amount of free time, Heidi enjoys being a 4-H leader, staying active outdoors, working with her cattle, and spending time with her family.
