Chelsea grew up in Wolcott, Connecticut and developed a love of animals from a young age. She began riding horses at the age of 10 and working at a local small animal veterinary clinic. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from the University of Connecticut and then went on to graduate from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine. While there, Chelsea worked in the large animal department as an emergency surgery technician and volunteered in the equine NICU. Following vet school, Chelsea completed a rigorous equine internship in New York and then worked in an equine practice as an associate for a few years prior to joining the Fenton River team. In addition to general equine care, Chelsea has a special interest in sports medicine and lameness and anesthesia.
Chelsea lives in Somers with her husband, Drew, dogs, Rocco and Rio, and her many polo horses. In her spare time, she can be found spending time with family and friends, enjoying the outdoors, and fostering her green thumb!
